In this episode of the Erica James Travel Show, I am talking to Joey Held. Joey is a writer and podcast host based in Austin, TX.

He is the host of two podcast—the Good People, Cool Things and Parks n Wrecked podcasts. Joey Held also runs the food blog Phat Phoodies, and is the creator of Crisp Bounce Pass, a newsletter exploring the intersection of basketball and pop culture.

When he’s not working on a story or podcasting, Joey enjoys playing with his band Burning Years, traveling to new cities, and spending time with his two pups. They truly do give the best cuddles.

Today’s episode, I am diving into Joey’s travel journey, his past vacations, and some of his current travel goals.

Enjoyed the interview with Joey Held. You both covered alot of areas of travel whether it was domestic or international. I love that he is a foodie, because I am too! I am definitely going to LinkedIn with him just because he said Prince’s hot chicken was the best in Nashville. Which is so true and they are the orginal ones who started the hot chicken!! Currently, we have been on a mission to visit all of the NFL stadiums. Actually, my better half has and I just go along with him and I enjoy it too. I think we have visited at least 10 different NFL stadiums so far. I am not a huge baseball fan, but I will have to agree with Joey how amazing alot of the baseball stadiums are and the food and activites that are connected to most of the baseball stadiums. Since I live in Atlanta, Ga we love to visit Truist Park(formerly Suntrust Park) where the Atlanta Braves play. The area is called Battery Atlanta, and there is so much to do there.

I definitely could relate with Joey on alot of topics that he discussed in the podcast. My better half’s dream is to go in all of the NFL stadiums. I think we have been in at least 10 different stadiums so far. I am going to make sure I LinkedIn with Joey just because he recognize that Prince’s hot chicken was the best!! They are the orignal hot chicken makers!!
Thanks Joey for sharing your experiences on traveling domestic or international. We probably drive more places than we fly, and you do get to see alot more when you drive around the United States.
I am not a huge baseball fan, but I can say I do love how they build baseball stadiums and add restaurants, nightlife, shopping, and just outdoor entertainment near or connected to the stadiums. We currently live in Atlanta, GA and we love to visit Truist Park(formerly Suntrust Park) where the Atlanta Braves play. The area is called the Battery Atlanta, and we love to just walk around and go in the restaurants, stores, or just be outside enjoying the atmosphere.
