I took some time off, and I really felt like I needed to address this.

Many people told me not to bring attention to my hiatus and to just continue releasing episodes from where I left off, but things have happened in the last few months and I feel that I need to talk about how travel has helped me get back to where I want to be.

Let’s go:

[02:07] When I started travelling.

It all started when I wanted to be a travel agent, and people don’t want to book from a travel agent who doesn’t travel, so I travelled to get all that experience and see the world.

[02:31] Travelling to heal my soul.

In 2014, I went through a divorce, and I was using travel at that point to heal and escape.  This need to escape to my happy place is what led to my first solo trip, which allowed me to learn things about myself and figure out who I am by myself.

Solo traveling helped me grow, build my confidence, and become responsible for my own happiness.

[04:39] Fastforward to 2022.

In April of 2022, my ex-husband, the love of my life since the 5th grade, passed away.  That was the last time I posted an episode.  As amazing and exciting travel is, I couldn’t put on that happy voice for the podcast.

Since then, up until now, I needed to escape. I needed to heal.

[06:19] My escape is travel.

Some people have exercise, meditation, or church that brings joy and peace into their lives.  I have travel. Travel pushes me to focus on myself and reflect on my own thoughts. Travel makes me EJ The Travel Diva.  If you need to heal, or if you need to bring joy into your life, run towards the thing that brings it into your life.

[09:40] I’m stronger than yesterday.

Thanks to travel, I’m able to be in a place where I want to be, I can heal, I can move forward with my life, I can have fun, I have confidence in myself, and I can become who I want to be.

If you ever lose yourself, and travel is something that you’re passionate about, get out there and do some self-care travel, find yourself again, and then you can also say “I’m back.”

“To move, to breathe, to fly, to float, to gain all while you give. To roam the roads of lands remote, to travel is to live.” – Hans Christian Andersen
