Let me just ask you: are you living your best life?
It might seem like a straightforward question, but have you really thought about the answer?
Today’s episode is going to be some more travel motivation, but you can really apply these tips to any part of your life.
Whatever your best life looks like, whether it’s traveling the world, skydiving, climbing mountains, or searching for the greatest French fries in the world, you need to ask yourself the right questions to get you started on that journey, and then you need to make it happen intentionally – without excuses.
Let’s get into this episode:
[02:15] What do you want your experience to be?
Whether it’s joyful or stressful, average or wonderful, you need to make the decision to have those kinds of experiences so that you can live the life that you want.
That said, if you want to have an adventurous and free life, sitting and waiting for it isn’t going to make it happen. If you’re determined to have a certain life experience, you need to be prepared to take the necessary actions to make it a reality.
[03:05] Are you living your life the way you choose to be?
If you’ve always wanted to travel, but you grew up not traveling, is that the reason you give for not currently traveling?
Did you choose that way of living, or was it passed down to you?
If you’re allowing your environment dictate how you should live your life, then you’re not choosing your life. Take control, let the environment do what it’s going to keep doing anyway, and don’t give it the power to make your decisions for you.
[05:45] Accept your reality.
If your circumstances are a barrier, you need to accept that reality, but you don’t need to let it define you. You can accept it, make small changes, and still have the experiences that you want to have.
If money is your reason for not doing what you want to do, there are ways that you can budget and plan so that you can those things even if it isn’t right away.
If you’ve never travelled before, and you’re avoiding it because you don’t know where to start, speak to a travel agent. We’re here to help. Surround yourself with people who have travelled or done the things that you want to do, so that you don’t feel alone in your journey.
[08:29] Be intentional or be reactive.
You have one of two options: be intentional or be reactive. If you’re reactive, everything is going to affect you and consume your life experience. If you’re intentional, only the things that you allow in are going to affect you.
No matter what your life may look like, make it something you enjoy. If you’re intentional about the way your life happens around you, joy is inevitable.
Ask yourself the important questions, accept that your current situation may not be ideal, and start to make a plan to change things in your life so that you can experience your best life.
