Episode 68: My Atlanta Birthday

It was my birthday recently. #VirgoFTW

For my birthday, I went to Atlanta with a few friends.

Atlanta is where I would go twice a year for my travels, before I did any of my international trips, so going back there for my birthday was pure nostalgia.

I was invited to Atlanta for a bachelorette party, and because it was my birthday, we decided to take that weekend and turn up all over Atlanta.

Here’s how that went:

[03:06] Black Hollywood.

Atlanta has it all.

It has all sorts of restaurants, a great nightlife, concert halls, art galleries, and everything else you could possibly imagine.

If you’re looking for a good time, it’s only a couple of hours drive from Nashville, so there’s no excuse for not turning up, even just for a weekend.

[03:37] Allure Gentlemen’s Club.

If you’re heading to Atlanta, you have to visit a strip club, and it must be Magic City.

Our itinerary took us to Allure Gentlemen’s Club for our first stop. It was a bit of a slow start, but I decided to take the fun into my own hands, and I turned up that night, because I wasn’t about to not have fun because my group of friends were sitting around all upset.

No.

Take control of your happiness.

[05:11] Ponce City Market.

On day 2 of our trip to Atlanta, it was my birthday, so we stopped by at Lenox Square to get myself a gift before heading to Ponce City Market.

On your Atlanta trip, add Ponce City Market to your itinerary. It is non-negotiable.

On the rooftop, there is a whole carnival with rides, mini golf, slides, horse derby, basketball, ski ball, and a bar so that you can enjoy a cocktail while playing all the games.

[06:52] Boogalou Restaurant & Lounge.

So, this happened: we were planning to dress to impress and have a sit-down dinner at Boogalou Restaurant & Lounge. When we got there, this place looked like a nightclub with swings around the bar and a DJ.

I passed judgement on this place from the outside.

We ordered our food, which was amazing, and we turned up and had a great time at Boogalou.

[08:29] The Gold Room.

After our dinner at Boogalou, we went to The Gold Room.

Here’s some advice: Unless you want to pay $60+ for parking, don’t park in the parking lot. You will not be getting free drinks if you pay $60 for your parking. It’s just to park your car there.

Other than the outrageously expensive parking, the turn up at the Gold Room was just something else. If I turn this into a blog, I might add some pictures from that night so that you all can understand how real the turn up was.

[09:50] Atlantis Lounge.

The next day, we headed to Atlantis Lounge.

The security at this place was wild. They searched every inch of us, and even told my friend that she had to take her peppermints back to the car.

Who needs to be searched just to have Sunday brunch?

We could’ve gone to Boogalou for brunch. Their dinner was amazing, so their lunch would’ve been amazing too.

After all the security checks and rules that we had to familiarize ourselves with, the food wasn’t all that. For all that effort, I was expecting amazing food.

If you want an easy, quick getaway, Atlanta is the place to be. It will have anything that you could possibly need for a great time.

Especially during these travel times, you don’t need to go abroad to have a vacation. Right in your backyard, there are places you can visit that will satisfy every entertainment, food, drink, and turn up need that you have.

Remember: You are never too old to have carnival fun. Don’t judge a book by it’s cover. Make the best of any and every situation. You are responsible for your own fun and happiness.
