One of my favorite resorts in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic is CHIC Punta Cana. It is an adult only, all-inclusive resort that lives up to the name of CHIC. Located on Uvero Alto beach, it is just a short ride from Punta Cana International Airport – approximately 15-minutes.
CHIC is not a huge resort nor is it small. I find it to be the perfect size where everything is a short walking distance away. It has something for everyone’s personality. I vacationed at this resort for a girl’s trip, as well as a vacation with just my mom, and both times I found the resort to fit my needs even though both were very different types of vacations. With my girls the turn up was real, and with my mom the relaxation was real.
Accommodations: The most important part of a resort, to me, is the room accommodations. A room can make or break your vacation. This resort offers 320 rooms with several different styles that are sure to make you feel like you are on vacation. One option is very modern and funky with florescent hot pink lights outlining the bed and several other parts of the room which just makes everything sexy. The rooms have everything that you need from a comfortable bed to a wall-mounted drink dispenser, flat screen TV, rain showers, and Bluetooth audio station. But…the best type of room on the property is the Swimout rooms! Imagine walking out of the sliding glass doors of your patio into your own semi-private po ol. It is just amazing to not have to leave your room to get into the pool. And when the main pool closes at 7pm, you are still able to have late night swims from the comfort of your own room with or without a swimming suit.
Diamond Club: Another feature that is an option when you select your room is to stay in the Diamond Club. The Diamond Club offers you additional perks with your stay. The rooms are located in a specific area of the resort that is close to the Diamond Club lounge which offers continental breakfast and evening hors d’oeuvres, as well as premium liquor. It has a better liquor selection/menu than the bars located around the resort. There are also several butlers located in this area that are available to assist you with dining, packing and unpacking, and preparing your jacuzzi. Also, with the Diamond Club, you have access to a special area of the beach where you have Bali beds and your own bar and snacks. Being in the Diamond Club gives you complimentary access to the Mermaid Pool and trust me, this is an Instagrammable pool.
What’s Included: CHIC is an all-inclusive resort. They like to call it “All-In Luxury”. Staying at this resort, you can be sure that all your meals are included, including the specialty restaurants. Beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, are included along with 24-hour room service and wall mounted drink dispensers in your room. There is free Wi-Fi throughout the entire resort and they allow you free calls to the United States from your room. There are pool parties, nightly entertainment, non-motorized watersports, and a fitness center—all included with your stay.
Entertainment: If you are looking for a resort that never has a shortage of things to do, this is your resort. I have visited a lot of resorts that are dead at night, but this is not that type of resort. You will always find fun. For example, there is a foam pool party that is amazing! You will need a water proof phone case for this party to capture every moment. Plenty of foam, the music is on point, and the pool vibe is LIT.
Although Diamond Club members always have access to the Mermaid pool, on Wednesday nights, CHIC opens it up to the entire resort for a party called Allure. This party is located on top of the Mermaid pool with a DJ, drinks and finger food. My friends and I danced the night away at this amazing pool party.
The Sports Bar turns into a night club after hours and you can sometimes find Karaoke and dancing. The DJ at this resort is truly amazing and plays all the latest hits to keep the crowd on the dance floor.
In the lobby of the resort, there is also entertainment a few nights of the week. You can see anything from Disco dancers to people on skates dancing. 
Dining: As much as I love this resort, I would have to say I have yet to be impressed with the buffet. I have never found the food to be good. With that said, the specialty restaurants are very impressive. With eight other a la carte restaurants, you never have to go to the buffet.
I will start by saying that Vespa, the Italian restaurant, had some of the best risotto that I have ever had in my life.
The steak house, Hunters, is outstanding. It has an open kitchen where you can watch the chef prepare your meal. If you are in the Diamond Club, you can also have breakfast at Hunters which is delicious.
While hanging out at the pool all day, there is a snack bar called Munchies that prepares some of the best chicken wings. I believe my friends and I ate those every day, all day.
Tagline is a Middle Eastern restaurant that has a very classy décor, interesting food, and great entertainment in the form of belly dancers. It is an experience that you want to enjoy.
CHIC also has a ceviche and sushi restaurant that was delicious as well.
SPA: The Royal Spa at CHIC was just as classy and impressive as the rest of the resort. It is a full-service spa where you can get everything from facials to body treatments and massages. The spa has a hydrotherapy room where you have pools with different temperatures. It goes from ice cold (like athletes generally sit in) to extremely hot. If you can stand it, take a moment and dip into each one of their pools from cold to hot. It will be memorable.
Many of my clients and others ask my recommendations for Punta Cana and it is no secret that I will always say CHIC as my number one choice. I find this resort to be the perfect size, and it offers everything needed for an enjoyable vacation from luxury to relaxations, to partying it up. Simply a great choice for girls/guys trips, couples, and singles.
